MARSHALL, George - Fayetteville, Ark., March 14 - A few days ago the city police were called to the northern part of the city to take charge of George Marshall, an old man reported to be insane. Upon arriving at his home the police found him lying on the ground at the edge of the porch, clad only in a shirt and shoes. Upon examination by a physician the old man was found to be suffering from pneumonia and his arm was broken. He lived only a few days. Authorities have attributed his demented condition to his sufferings from pneumonia and from the broken arm. It is suspected that the family of the deceased refused to care for him, preferring that he should die. Accordingly his wife and son-in-law, A.B. Upton, have been placed under arrest charged with murder in the first degree. They will be given a preliminary hearing Friday.
