August 17, 1923 - October 25, 1966
Hershell Merritt, 43, died Tuesday at a hospital in New Orleans, La., following a lengthy illness. Mr. Merritt, a former resident of Camden, had lived in New Orleans for the past several years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Wright Merritt, one daughter, Beverly sand one son, Stanley; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Lampkin of Chidester, Mrs. Alva Cloud, Waldo, Mrs. Joe Coates, Maryville, Ind.; three brothers, Charles and E. B. Merritt of Camden and Garland Merritt of Chidester. Funeral arrangements which are incomplete are in charge of Young's Funeral Home of El Dorado. Burial will be in Crane Cemetery, near Chidester.
