January 15, 1897 - January 11, 1973
Conway Augustus (Guss) Stocks, 75, of Junction City was found dead near his home Thursday afternoon. He was born Jan. 15, 1897 in El Dorado, the son of H. M. and Philma Franklin Jameson Stocks. He was a retired public worker, a member of the Baptist faith, and a lifelong resident of Union County. Survivors include two brothers, John R. Stocks, of Lindsey, Okla., and Harris Stocks of Spearsville, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burnett of Junction City and Mrs. Alice Culpepper of Farmerville, La.; and a number of nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Junction City with Rev. Harold Cook officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Mary Burnett in Junction City. (The El Dorado Times - January 13, 1973)
