BANDY, W.J. - W.J. Bandy, an aged farmer living one and a quarter miles west of Twelve Corners and three or four miles from Pea Ridge, was crushed so badly Tuesday of last week by a falling tree that he died at 4 o'clock that afternoon. Mr. Bandy, with his brother-in-law, Jim Roller, was cutting logs and a tree they had previously felled lodged in the top of a nearby tree. As they were starting for dinner the tree fell and came crushing down upon them. Mr. Roller just barely escaped while Mr. Bandy was too late and his shoulder was crushed and he also suffered concussion of the brain from a blow in the back of the head. Mr. Bandy was nearly seventy years of age and had lived in the neighborhood for fifteen or twenty years. He has a number of children but there is no one at home now but the aged wife. The deceased was well known and liked by all the community and his sudden death is a great shock.
