Died September 5, 1947, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Son of William M. & Octavia Montgomery Gaston.
Married Elizabeth E. "Lizzie" Nicks, May 22, 1909, Izard County, Arkansas.
Melbourne Times, Melbourne, Arkansas, September 11, 1947:
Vance M. Gaston age 57, of Zion, died in a Little Rock hospital Friday.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter, Gray and Nevaline Gaston, both of Zion; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Weathers of Salem and Mrs. Elda Campbell of Springdale and two brothers, Marvin Gaston of Wayne, Okla., and Claude Gaston of Franklin.
Funeral services were conducted at the Violet Hill Baptist church Saturday by Rev. Hugh Cooper and burial was at the Violet Hill Cemetery.
