His obituary reads: Josiah Tyson was born Dec 13, 1815. He was married to Mahala McGee Nov 14, 1839 and lived a devoted Christian 49 years, was baptized by a Primitive Baptist in Merriwether Co, GA. Moved from there to Carroll Co GA. Was clerk of the Primitive Baptist Chruch for 18 years. Moved to AR in 1866. He lived in the chruch here since he had been in AR and lived a good Christian all his life. His life companion is well advanced in years and will soon enjoy eternal happiness with him.
