Pete the son of Ernest Lee Melton and Opal Agnes (Bradley) Melton. Janette the daughter of Howard Feland Bonner and Almeda (Alphin) Bonner.
Melton
HOXIE -- Ernest Oneal "Pete" Melton, 61, of Hoxie died Saturday, Aug. 28, at his residence.
He was born at Cord. He was a foreman for Union Pacific Railroad and lived in the Hoxie area most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lee and Opal Agnes Bradley Melton.
Survivors include his wife, Janette Bonner Melton of the home; three sons, Danny Lee Melton and Gary Don Melton, both of Walnut Ridge, and Neil Donovan Melton of Hoxie; four sisters, Willine Erwin of Pocahontas, Berline Stewart of Hoxie, Maxine Baldridge of Hardy and Norma Jean Hackworth of Louisiana; two brothers, James Melton of Jonesboro and J.D. Melton of Hoxie; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Whittaker Cemetery, with Derek Collins officiating.
House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.

Janette Carol Melton
WALNUT RIDGE — Janette Carol Melton, 61, died Tuesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest O’Neal Melton; parents, Howard Feland Bonner and Almeda (Alphin) Bonner; and brother, Don Bonner.
She is survived by sons, Danny Melton, Gary Melton and Neil Melton, all of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Alma Britt of Trenton, Ga., Betty Miller of Hardy and Wanda Woods of Walnut Ridge; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Whittaker Cemetery with Derek Collins officiating under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
