Mr. John H. "Jack" Schroder, age 92 of Mountain Home passed away Friday, April 4, 2008 at Hospice of the Ozarks' Hospice House. John H. "Jack" Schroder was born November 7, 1915 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to John Herman Schroder, Sr. and Maude (Phelps) Schroder. He served in the US Navy SeaBees in WWII. Mr. Schroder was the chief engineer in the power plant of Reynolds Metals in Bauxite, Arkansas. He championed many environmental and workers' rights causes during his life. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening and calligraphy. He was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church.
Jack is survived by 2 sons: John C. "Cliff" Schroder and wife Frieda of Mountain Home, and David A. Schroder and wife Sue of Shelbyville, TN; 3 grandchildren: Virginia Schroder of Chapsworth, GA, Amy Cooper (Andrew) of Morrison, TN, and David Anthony Schroder (Amanda) of Murfreesboro, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Hundley) Schroder.
