Mary Ella Rawls Utt of Norfork, daughter of the late John Herman and Mary Zita Hernandez Rawls, was born July 17, 1916, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She died October 12, 2000, in Mt. Home. She ws 84.
Mrs. Utt was united in marriage to Howard E. Utt in 1935 in Pensacola, Florida. She was employed by Scott Valley Dude Ranch as a cook. She retired in 1981. Mary was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include two daughters, and sons-in-law, Ariel and James Landrus of Fayetteville, and Jerrie and Edward Gordon of Pineville; two sons, Howard E. Utt of Huntsville, Alabama, and Jon Utt of Norfork; one sister, Helen Kelso; two brothers, Gene and Gus Rawls, both of Pensacola, Florida; ten grandchildre; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.
Funeral services were held October 14, 2000, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Doug Huskey officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Adams, George Clark, Lawrence Cunningham, Patrick Kelly, Lee Glen Schaufler and Gregg Skidmore.
Interment was at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
