Mrs. Tyson was born Oct. 8 1915 at Cunot, Jackson, Ind., the daughter of James Alva and Bertha Bales Knoll. She was a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of First Methodist Church and of the Order of Eastern Star and the Investors Club.

She was secretary of Tyson Foods, Inc., one of the largest poultry processing plants in Arkansas.

On January 15, 1967, while driving home, John and his wife, Helen Knoll Tyson, were killed instantly when their car was struck by a train from the St. Louis-San Francisco (Frisco) Railroad, at a crossing on Hwy. 264 about three miles north of Springdale.

They had a son, Randal William Tyson.
