Mrs. Mary Loullie Phelps - Crook was born in N. L. R., AR on Aug. 25, 1916 to the late Alex & Clara Phelps. She attended the N. L. R. Schools. She was married to Mr. Robert A. Crook & to this union two children were born.She confessed Christ & joined the 8th St. Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend W.R. Vaughn. She was a member of the Senior Choir. Later she united w/ the Church of Christ @ McAlmont, AR & remained until her passing on Sept. 22, 1975 @ 8:55 A.M. Survivors are one son, Robert A. Crook of McAlmont, one daughter, Mrs. Francis Jean Barns of N.L.R., one half brother, Earnest Pruitt, N.L.R., two half sister, Mrs. Maetta Threets-Walker, Marche, AR and Mrs. Otea Hodges, Detroit, Michigan, one adopted sister Mrs. Rachel Ackerson, Berkley, California, one aunt of Tupelo, Mississippi, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of other relatives and friends.
