Henry J. Carr, 80, Sulphur Springs, died November 3 at Gravette Medical Center after an illness.

Mr. Carr was born May 12, 1906, at Oregon, Mo. He moved to Sulphur Springs in 1970 from the state of Washington, where he retired as superintendent of the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project. He was a member of Gravette Church of Christ. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Bentonville Post No. 6344, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Vada Carr; a son, Henry Jason Carr of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Olga Lee Gerken of Okeene, Okla.; two sisters, Frances Hughes of Savannah, Mo., and Ella Blythe, Augusta, Kan.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 6 at Gravette Church of Christ. Burial was in Butler Creek Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.

Pallbearers were Owen Reagan, Spec Martin, Joe Cash, Orlia Smith, Joe Shackleford and Joe Lett.
