Carl Wayne Abercrombie, 73, of Sulphur Springs died Sunday in the Sparks Memorial Hospital at Fort Smith. He was born Mar. 29, 1903, in Sulphur Springs. He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora Abercrombie of the home; one daughter, Clara E. Hance of Stella, Mo.; and one sister, Mrs. Stella Maddox of Stillwell, Okla.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Sulphur Springs Methodist Church with Rev. Sherman Waters officiating. Burial was in the Butler Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Pyeatt Funeral Home.

Lenora Abercrombie, 85, of Gravette, died July 23, 1992 at Gravette Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 30, 1906 at Noel, Mo. to June Brown and Phoebe Brown.

A lifetime Gravette resident, she was a member of Sulphur Springs Methodist Church and the Jolly Good Time Club of Gravette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Abercrombie.

Survivors include a daughter, Clara E. Hance of Stella, Mo.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Gravette, by the Rev. Charles Wiggins.

Burial will be in Butler Creek Cemetery north of Sulphur Springs.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
