December 16, 1902 - October 26, 1948
Marion Hugh Nettles, aged 44, pharmacist at Hollingsworth Drug Company, died following a heart attack at 11 a.m. today at the Camden Hospital. He suffered the attack last night and was taken to the hospital this morning. The attack came suddenly and he worked in the drug store Monday. Mr. Nettles came to Camden from Hampton about ten years ago and lived at 309 Chestnut street. He formerly played on the Hampton baseball team and during the past few years had taken part in the Camden softball league. He is a native of Calhoun county. He is survived by his wife, and two sons, Jerry, 11, and Andy, 8, his mother, Mrs. J. M. Nettles of Hampton; three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Daniels of Warren; Mrs. L. B. Dilworth of Camden; Miss Jo Nettles of Hampton; three brothers, Ray, Charlie and Johnny, all of Hampton. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church in Hampton Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Means cemetery near Hampton by the Mathis funeral home. (Camden News - October 26, 1948)
