Mr. Osborn Donald “O.D.” Gardner, age 81 of Mountain Home passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at his home. Mr. Gardner was born February 23, 1928 in Almartha, Missouri to Arthur and Della (Snelson) Gardner. He married Patsy Raye Lawrence in 1949 in Mountain Home. They moved to the area in 1967 from Kansas City, Missouri. O.D. served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired drywall contractor.
O.D. truly loved racing and spent many years racing cars. He was a talented musician who loved music throughout his life. He was also very skilled at woodworking. He was an avid fisherman who tied the best jigs around. He had many friends and loved ones and will be truly missed by all.
O.D. Gardner is survived by his wife Pat Gardner of the home; brother, Jack Gardner of Mountain Home; son, Rick Gardner (Theresa) of Mountain Home; daughter, Jana McCants of Mountain Home; 3 granddaughters, Shanon Gardner of Mountain Home, Angela Dinges (Jamie) of Mountain Home, and Cassidy McCants of Fayetteville; 4 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, several great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Della Gardner, sister, Ernestine Conrad, and sister, Bonnie Fox.
