WIGHT, James H. - James H. Wight, who died recently, was one of Benton county's pioneers. His father, Warren Wight, is believed to have built the first house in Bentonville. Mr. Wight was born in this city in 1839 and was married to Sarah Graham in 1866. To them were born three girls and three boys, of which Will, John, Alonzo and Tempy Wight and Mrs. Harry Blood are still living in and near Bentonville. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and was a faithful member. At the time of his death he was 80 years old. Burial was made in the Little Flock cemetery, Elder J.G. Taylor of Garfield conducting the funeral services of this good man who had seen during his life time the country around him grow from a wilderness of wild animals to one of the garden spots of America.
