Jack D. Harrod, age 81, of Hermitage, Arkansas, (formerly of Laurel, Mississippi), died Thursday, October 21, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Born May 14, 1923 in Bradley County, a son of the late Jimmy Harrod and Violet Morgan Harrod, he was retired from Masonite Corporation in Laurel, Mississippi, with 27 years service, a World War II Army veteran and a Primitive Baptist. Also, preceding him in death was a brother James D. "Spikie" Harrod and sisters Vada Clanton and Dorothy Johnson.
Survivors are his wife, two sons, three brothers, one sister, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday, October 24, at Union Hill Baptist Church in Ingalls with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were members of Hilo Hunting Club. -- from Frazer Funeral Home online
