AUSTIN, Bula Edna JOHNSON - Bula Edna, daughter of W.P. and Ella Johnson, was born near Gravette January 18, 1891 and died at her home west of town March 14, 1920, aged 29 years. At the age of 17 she united with the Christian church at Gravette and was a faithful, conscientious worker. On October 12, 1912 she was married to Earl Austin and to this union were born four sons, Russell, James, Bobbie and Jack, the youngest only three days old at the mother's death. She is also survived by her parents, three sisters - Mrs. Claude Keith of Durango, Colo.; Mrs. Joe Stokes of Texas and Mrs. Etner Ochs of Oskaloosa, Kans. - three brothers, Dewey, Lee and Dorris of Vinita, Okla. The bereaved husband was quite ill and unable to attend the interment which occurred at I.O.O.F. cemetery Monday afternoon. Pneumonia, following a prolonged siege of influenza, was the cause of Mrs. Austin's death. Funeral ceremony was conducted by Rev. W.H. Gayer at the Austin home. The many friends of the family here and elsewhere offer genuine sympathy to the unfortunate husband and relatives.
