Joseph Edward Alexander, 81, Rt. 2, Gravette, died Thursday at the Gravette Medical Center. He was born March 10, 1885.

He was a member of the Christian Church.

He is survived by eight sons, Glynn Alexander, Winfield, Kan., Sam Alexander, Wichita, Kan., Joe Alexander, Gentry, Leroy Alexander, Barstow, Calif., Lavern Alexander, Wichita, Dale Alexander, Shelby, Colo., Billy Alexander, Gravette, and Wendell Alexander, Gravette; six daughters, Stella Ortue, Gravette, Ellen Raynor, Manhattan, Kan., Bonnie Schaeffer, Gravette, Edna Schaeffer, Gentry, Viola Buffer, Gravette, Betty Wilkins, Decatur; three brothers and four sisters; 31 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Callison-McKinney Funeral Chapel in Gravette with the Rev. A. P. Vohn. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette.

Bunard Leroy Alexander, 58, of Gravette died December 16, 1986, at the Gravette Medical Center. He was born January 28, 1928 in Ness City, Kansas, to Joseph Edward and Esther Molly Marie Lennon Alexander. He was a farmer, member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Barstow, California and had moved to this area in 1975 from Barstow, California.

Survivors include one son, Brian Lee Alexander of Gravette; seven brothers, Glynn Alexander of Winfield, Kansas, Sam Issac Alexander of Wichita, Kansas, Dale Leon Alexander of Shelby, North Carolina, Billy Gene Alexander and Wendill Dean Alexander, both of Gravette; Joseph Alexander of Decatur, and Levern Alexander of Wichita and six sisters, Stella Orton of Gravette, Ellen Neil of Oklahoma, Bonnie Shaffer of Gravette, Edna Shaffer of Rogers, Xollie Buffer of Gravette, Betty Wilkins of Decatur; and three grandchildren.

Committal services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 18, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette under the direction of the Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Gravette.
