AUSTIN, Nelly BURROW - Old Grandma Austin was born in North Carolina and her parents moved to Bedford Co., Tenn. when she was about 4 years old where she was raised and married there to Willis Austin when she was about 15 years old and when she was about 25 years old she was left a widow with 7 children and about 1850 she moved to Arkansas, in Benton county where she lived up to her death. She had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church about 65 years. She was about 104 years old at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Burrow; she is better known by the old citizens as Aunt Nelly Austin. She out-lived all her children; the last one living was Bryant Austin who has been dead 6 years. She has lived with E. Austin, her grandson, for about 20 years; she was interred in Bethel Graveyard on the 21st of Jan. 1892. She leaves many grandchildren and a host of friends. E. Austin.
