George Francis Black, 74, of Ozark died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in his home. He was born June 5, 1932, in Johnson County. He was a retired truck driver for Tyson Foods, a farmer, a member of the Society for the Preservation of Blue Grass Music of America, the Arkansas Blue Grass Association, Green Country Blue Grass Association, Blue Grass Jammer and the Roseville Assembly of God, was entertainer of the year at Rio Grand Valley in Texas and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Mona; a daughter, Ramona Black of the home; a son, Buddy Black of Siloam Springs; a sister, Tyance Dexter of Midway; a brother, Melvin Black of California; and two grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
