*Obituary
Benton County Democrat
Thursday, March 10, 1910

Mrs. Ellen Collins was born at Pea Ridge, Ark. September 2, 1848. On the 24th of February 1910, after a few weeks illness, she passed quietly from this life, aged sixty-one years, six months and eight days. Funeral services were held at New Home church on the morning of February 25th. A large number of friends and neighbors were in attendance. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near the church. Mrs. Collins was well known in this vicinity, having spent almost her entire life in Benton county. She was a woman of unusual energy and independence of character. She was a fond mother, sacrificing herself in behalf of her children. She was a good neighbor and a pleasant friend. In early life she united with the Methodist church. During the last year of her life she manifested a new interest in religion and professed anew her faith in Christ by uniting with the M.E. Church of Bentonville. She leaves behind one son and two daughters who deeply mourn her loss. Her grandchildren and many friends will sadly miss her beloved presence from their midst. We sincerely sympathize with them in their sorrow. May the Lord comfort their hearts by His grace. W.S. Baker.
