ALEXANDER -- Hubert L. "Buck" PYLAND, 94, of Alexander, formerly of Paragould, died Saturday at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born July 10, 1912, in Craighead County to the late William Henry and Eva Mae Starnes Pyland.

His daughter, Norma Jean Pyland, and two sons, Jim and Mike Pyland, also preceded him in death.

Hubert was retired from Emerson Electric Co. and as an auto mechanic. He was a member of Seventh and Mueller Church Of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lee Jernigan Pyland of North Little Rock; one son, Rick Pyland of Little Rock; one half-brother, Bill Pyland of Paragould; one brother-in-law, Quillon Jernigan of Little Rock; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in Clarks Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Hospital Cardiac-9B, Little Rock.
