Greensboro Road - Route of the Pioneer
The first thoroughfares in Craighead County followed an old Indian Trail and was used by the Pioneer settlers as the principal North-South route through the territory. It was named for the Town of Greensboro, a trading center between 1835 - 1889, located 10 miles north of the point the last resting place of many pioneer families. Ransom Cemetery is one of the oldest in the area.
