BLACKBURN, J.H. - (from The Rogers Democrat, Feb. 1) Mr. J.H. Blackburn, one of the leading citizens of Madison county, died at his home at Hindsville last Wednesday and was buried at the family graveyard at War Eagle Mills yesterday. He was the oldest brother of Senator J.A.C. Blackburn and father of our esteemed citizen, W.T. Blackburn. He was born in Murray county, Tennessee but has lived in northwest Arkansas since 1832. He lived to a ripe old age, lacking only five days of being 66 years old. His children were all present and he was conscious up to the time of his death and said that he was at peace with all mankind and was perfectly willing to die. We tender sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends.
