Ira D. Allred, 83, of Siloam Springs died Saturday night at a Tulsa hospital from burns received Wednesday afternoon at his home in Siloam.

He was born June 1, 1889 at Avoca. He worked for the Rogers light and water company as an engineer and boiler fireman from the time he was 16 and later became a farmer and cattle raiser.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Orpha Allred of the home; three daughters, Mrs. evelyn Williams of Rogers; Mrs. Eva Sweeten of Fayetteville and Mrs. Maxine Raper of Tulsa; a brother, John Allred of Monette, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Callison Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with Rev. Mark Reed officiating. Burial was in Rogers Cemetery. Callison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Orpha Allred, 95, of Rogers, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1993, at a local nursing center. She was born July 20, 1897, in Oklahoma to Oliver Perry and Lillie Ellen Crafford Hopping.

A member of First Christian Church, Rogers, she lived and farmed most of her life in West Siloam Springs. She was a member of several Home Demonstration Clubs.

Her husband, Ira Dennis Allred, died in 1973.

Survivors are three daughters, Evelyn Williams of Rogers, Eva Sweeten of West Fork, Maxine Lafon of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Hugh Hopping of Siloam Springs; a sister, Avery Weiser of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel, Rogers, with the Rev. Chris Pulliam officiating. Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery.
