The original half acre was given in trust to the Maumelle Community in the late 1800's by Mr. Wiley Stuman. In April 1939 five community members, Tom Wilkins, Will Anderson, Arthur Dyer, Albert Wilkins and
Isaiah Norwood purchased and donated 1.5 acres from Willie L Grimmett.
