BELLA VISTA — Herman H. Luschar, 82, of Bella Vista died Feb. 17, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born March 16, 1924, in Chicago to Herman and Josephine Tomio Luschar. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and received his master's degree in education from East Texas State Teachers College. He served in the European Theater and the Pacific Campaign with the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated Wynnewood Radio and TV in Dallas. He retired after 20 years of service with the Dallas Independent School district.

He was a Mason, a 32-degree Shriner, a member of the Lions Club International, in which he held local and state offices. He was an amateur radio operator, an engineer for Bella Vista Television Channel 16, a member of VFW Post 9063, and he owned RES Electronics Systems. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marathon Blake Luschar.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Loretta of the home; his daughter, Karen Luschar and John Vandertholen of Bloomfield, N.J.; a stepdaughter, Mary J. Tate and husband Craig of Plano, Texas; a sister, Anita Frasz and husband John of Downers Grove, Ill.; two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Dick Lindman officiating. Burial will be in Bella Vista Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas, 75219.
