WILEY, Frank - {from Cave Springs} Quite a number from here attended the military funeral Saturday afternoon of Frank Wiley, who was killed in action overseas and whose remains were brought back to the U.S. and laid to rest in the Goad Springs cemetery. Brother Rice of Springdale conducted the funeral services at the home and the services at the cemetery were in charge of the Odd Fellows and American Legion from Springdale. Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Wiley.

The body of Frank Wiley was brought from France and given a military burial in the little Goad Springs cemetery west of Lowell last Saturday. The Odd Fellows of Cave Springs also assisted in the funeral. Wiley was in the 89th Infantry and fought in the first battle of the Marne. There he contracted pneumonia and died shortly after at the base hospital.
