Ruth E. Mayfield of Mt. Home died Saturday (April 10, 1999) at her residence. She was 68.
Mrs. Mayfield was born Aug 8, 1930, at Old Joe to Johnny Black and Willie Arnold Black Dwells. (sp) She was married to Charles Mayfield, Sr. She was a lifetime area resident who was a homemaker and worked for Baxter Healthcare and Baxter County Regional Hospital. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Community Church at Calico Rock.
She is survived by her mother; one son, Johhny Mayfield of Mt. Home; four daughters, Cynthia Branscum of Calico Rock, and Rebecca Lamb, Kathryn Mayfield and Elaine Cook, all of Mt. Home; one brother; three sisters, Salley Malone and Anna Kemp, both of Old Joe, and Hazel May of Calico rock; 10 grandchilden; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; father; step father, Ed Dwelle;(sp) son Charles Mayfield, Jr.; two sisters, Billie Lee Black and Hilda Rose Oldham; one grandson, Michael Adron Lamb; and one great grandson Seth Michael Cook.
Services will be at 4PM today at Old Galatia Chruch with Rev. Gale Wooten officiating. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Greg Mayfield, Richard Cook, Aaron Lamb, Zachary Mayfield, Bruce Sanders, Chester Pool, Keith Shaddock and Larry Stapleton. Honorary pallbearers will include Jeanette Pool, Brandy Sanders, Heaven Shaddock, Adrienne Maybield and Johnna Mayfield.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
