Vernon Donal Hankins, 52, Rt. 1, Combs, died Dec. 30 in the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. Born Jan. 29, 1925, at Crosses, he was the son of Floyd and Ora Salsbury Hankins and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, James Vernon Hankins of Quantico, Va., and Robert Lee Hankins of Fayetteville' three daughters, Janice Marie Hankins of grand Island, Neb., Mrs. Donna Ruth Kopczynski, and Mrs. Karen Faye Doerr both of Quincy, Wash.; his mother of Combs; one brother, Delbert Hankins of Wenatchee, Eash.; five sisters, Mrs. Juanita Roach and Mrs. evelyn Brashears both of Combs, Charlene Hankins and Mrs. Retah Dean Couch both of Elkins. and Mrs. Glenn Marie Faubus of Crosses; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. today in Walnut Grove Community Church with the Rev. basil Ledford officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of brashears Funeral Home of Fayetteville.

Pallbearers were Ray Donahou, Dennis Donahou, Lee Mounce, Danny Patrick, Bobby Hankins and Kelly Sisco.
