ROLLER, Otto - Rogers Daily News, July 25th.- Otto Roller was crushed to death shortly after noon yesterday when the car in which he was riding overturned near Electric Springs. Otto, who has made his home in Tulsa with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Reed, for the past year, arrived in Rogers last Thursday on a visit with his brother, Dan{?} and Cleo Roller, who live near the Electric Springs. Otto, in company with his brother, Dean{?}, and Leon Williams, another young boy who lives in the same neighborhood, were returning to their home when Mr. Sam Hutchens stopped and asked the boys if they wanted to ride. The Hutchens family lives in the cottage near the Electric Springs Hotel and just as the car neared the Hutchens home it left the road and ran along in the shallow ditch by the side of the road for several feet before hitting a stump which caused it to turn over. It is not known what went wrong with the car that Mr. Hutchens lost control of it but is generally supposed that the steering gear locked, causing it to leave the road. The Roller boys are orphan children and Otto has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Reed since the death of his parents several years ago, going from here to Tulsa with the Reed family a little more than a year ago. Both Dean Roller and Sam Hutchens are employees of Mr. O.L. Gregory, the Roller boy having worked at the Gregory farm for the past five or six years. All occupants of the car were severely cut and bruised but both boys were able to be out this morning. Mr. Hutchens was badly cut about the hands and arms. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Tuck's Chapel. Arrangements were in charge ofJ.W. Bryant and interment was in the Tuck's Chapel cemetery.
