HIWASSE — Arlin J. Carver, 84, of Hiwasse died March 4, 2002, at Gravette Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1917, in Hiwasse to John and Myrtle Ann Williamson Carver. He was a truck driver for Johnny Horton and Jim Brown and was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wives, Ellen Clark Carver, died July 20, 1956, and Mable Carver died July 23, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Mae Spears of Hiwasse; one brother, Jay Carver of Gravette; three grandchildren, Gene Dixon of Gravette, Tammy Dixon of Stella, Mo., and Mary Duncan of Hiwasse; 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse with the Rev. Jim Daniel officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Hiwasse.
Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.
Contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
