CROCKER, Fred W. - Fred W Crocker, 23 years of age, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Crocker of Claremore, Okla., died at the hospital in Rogers about 5 o'clock Monday afternoon shortly after a truck which he was driving was struck by a southbound freight train on the Frisco railway at the Elm street crossing in Rogers. The force with which the engine drove into the truck was so great that it was entirely destroyed and the youth was buried beneath the wreckage. He was rescued and rushed to the hospital where he died a few minutes later, not regaining consciousness. Crocker had been in Rogers about two weeks visiting his two uncles, W.B. Kennan and A.A. Kennan, and other relatives. The truck which he was driving was loaded with sand and cement belonging to W.B. Kennan of the Rogers Transfer Company for whom he was working while he was visiting there. The young man and his family were formerly residents of Rogers and are quite well known in that place. The family now lives in Claremore where Mr. Crocker is foreman for an oil company. Many of their relatives still live in this county. The funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning and interment will be made in the Oakley Chapel cemetery.
