1898 - December 28, 1970
John Dillard Shirey of Shreveport, La., died in a hospital there Monday morning. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Mr. Shirey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Holmes Shirey; one son, Lawrence Shirey of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Hill of Corsicana, Texas, and Mrs. Margaret Joyner of Port Neches, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Jimmy Starnes of Baton Rouge, La., and Mrs. Millard McElyea of Flint, Mich; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Proctor's Chapel with burial in Whitefield Cemetery, Near Beuna Vista. (Camden News - December 29, 1970)
