Services for Warren Hubert Helms, Jr. of Norfork will be at 11Am today at Lone Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Huskey officiating. Mr. Helms died Thursday (Oct 9) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 66.
Visitation was from noon-9PM Sunday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5-7PM. Burial will be at Burnt School House Cemetery with Bill Adams, Jervis Walker, Robert Byrd, Hobson Greer, Frank Brumfield and Lynn Rand serving as pallbearers.
A resident of Norfork for 26 years, Mr. Helms was formerly of Little Rock where he was born Aug 21, 1931, a son of the late Sarah McHenry Helms and Hubert Helms, Sr. He retired as manager of McCrory's Variety Store. He and the former June Trammell were married Aug 1956, in North Little Rock. Mr. Helms was a member of Lone Rock Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Helms enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, June Helms of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Romig and husband, Glen of Pine Bluffs, WY and Julie M. Helms of Little Rock; a sister, Sarah Hyatt of Perryville; and two grandchildren, Will and Alex Romig both of Pine Bluffs, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William M. Helms.
Memorials may be made to Lone Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 6726 Push Mt. Road, Norfork, 72658.
