ROGERS — Bobby Joe Hummel, 67, of Rogers died Feb. 17, 2008, at Springdale. He was born June 11, 1940, in Tulsa, Okla., to Pat and Millie Bell Walker Hummel.

He was a self-employed plumber.

He was a Navy veteran, serving as a 3rd class store keeper aboard the USS Prairie AD-15.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sheila Akins Hummel of the home; two sons, Frankie Elliott and wife Amy and Michael Hummel and wife Lisa, all of Rogers; two brothers, Roy Hummel of Farmington and Jimmy "Pete" Hummel of Rogers; three grandchildren, Jessica and Katie Elliott and Brooks Hummel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers, www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Alan Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery near Avoca. Military honors will be conducted by Bella Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, c/o the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1818, Memphis, Tenn. 38101 or Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, 72762.
