BROWN, Martha Malinda BASSINGER - Martha Malinda Bassinger was born August 24, 1853 and died April 2, 1920, aged 66 years, 5 months and 18 days. She was apparently well but while feeding her chickens was stricken with paralysis and lived only six hours. She was married to Albert Brown December 23, 1887 and to this union was born three children, Jennie Lee Musteen, John Dallas Brown and Effie Anne Brown, who died in infancy. She was a member of the Baptist church at Pleasant Hill for 25 years and lived a consistent Christian life, loved and esteemed by all who knew her. She was a woman of decision and firmness and she had evidence that she had passed from death unto life. Funeral services were held at the home by Elders E.J. Adams and A.J. Deason after which she was laid to rest in the Walnut Hill cemetery by the side of her father, John Bassinger. A Friend.
