Charles O. King, 78, died at his home near Advance Tuesday and funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Burnt School House Cemetery near Lone Rock, in Charge of Rev Petit.
Mr. King was born in Alabama but was raised and lived the greater part of his live in Baxter County in the Lone Rock and Advance communities. He was a leader and worker in all that contributed to the progress and welfare of the county and was an active member of the Church of Christ. He and his wife had been married for fifty years.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Edgar of Burden, Kansas, Weltner J. of Holderville, Oklahoma and Elmer of Mt. Home; two daughters, Mrs. Eula Holliday of Rogersville, MO and Mr. L.Z. Woods of Lone Rock; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three grandchildren preceded him in death, Ernest, Clyde and Kenneth Ray King, sons of Edgar of Burden, Kansas. Kenneth Ray was killed in Action last May in ?. One grandson, Lloyd is here on leave from the Navy.
