Truitt T. Garrett, 81, of Holland died Thursday (Sept. 6, 2001) at his home.
Born Feb. 11, 1920, in Holland, a son of Thomas J. and Fannie McGaha Garrett, he was a retired farmer, a World War II Army veteran and attended Holland Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Cockrum.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Coomes Garrett; two sons, Tommy L. Garrett of Anaheim, Calif., and Jimmy K. Garrett of Greenbrier; three daughters, Marilyn L. Colclasure and Ann Newman, both of Conway, and Jan Hall of Texarkana; one sister, Lucille "Pete" Purifoy of Holland; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Holland Baptist Church with Bill Garrett officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Holland. Arrangements are by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Colclasure, Rick Newman Jr., Adam Newman, Daniel Colclasure, Sean Garrett, Jeremy Cockrum and Jimmy Cockrum.
