HELEN CATHERINE LINDLEY OF DOLPH, daughter of the late George Thomas and Marie Theresa Lauterbach Shaw, was born June 12, 1913 at Cicero, Illinois. She died October 10, 2002, at the Community Medical Center of Izard County in Calico Rock. She was 89 years old. During her working yeas she was a telegrapher, secretary, newspaper reporter, historian and free-lance writer. She organized the Izard County Historical Society and served as editor of their publication, The izard County Historian of 20 years. Her biography appeared in the Who's Who of American Women. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel Gordon and Jocelyn Lindley of Nixa, Missouri and Alan James and Margaret Tranekier of Denver, Colorado,; two grandchildren, Charlotte Lindley Cooper of Clever, Missouri and Brett Lindley of Nixa, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Tranekier and her second husband, Samuel Gibbs Lindley. Graveside services were held October 10, 2002 at Trimble Campground Cemetery with Brother Dave Williamson officiating. Arrangements were by Howard Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Memorial can be made to the American Heart Association at 9029 West Second Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 and the Salvation Army at 121 Hwy 201 North, Mt. Home, Arkansas, 72653.
