Visitation for Mary E. Simpson of Norfork will be from 9AM until 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM. Mrs. Simpson, a lifetime area resident, died Wednesday (Jan 14) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. She was 81.
Funeral services will be at 2PM Saturday at the Norfork Church of Christ with Brother Don Pfalser officiating. Burial will be in Norfork Cemetery with Cecil Farmer, Rayburn Adams, Rue Porter Rogers, Fern Harvey, Don Harvey and Alvin Reynolds serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Greg, Gary, Andy, Doug and Alan Simpson; Jerry, Mike, Bryan and Dennis Boyd; Paul, Gary and Tim Stephens; Dale Wilson and Leroy Geddis.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas 'Ed' Simpson, at home; four sons, Bob, O.C. and Andrew Simpson, all of Norfork and Earl Simpson of St. Louis, MO; five daughters, Louise Boyd of Bergman, Hattie Mae Wilson of Jacksonville, Vivian Storch of St. Louis, Imogene Stephens of Otello, WA, and Dorothy Allgaier of Aberdeen, WA; two sisters, Anna Climer of Norfork and Ruby Dobbs of Little Rock; 22 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jackson Small and Louvina Starrett Small; one daughter, June Simpson, who died in 1955; five brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Simpson was a Baxter County native, born on March 10, 1905. She was married Feb 12, 1922, at Norfork. A housewife, Mrs. Simpson was a member of the World War I Ladies Auxiliary at Mt. Home and the Norfork Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Nofork Cemetery Association.
