Elmer Louis Howard, 74, of Norfork, a retired railroad engineer, died at a St. Louis hospital Monday of last week, as the result of a car accident at St. Louis Dec 9. His wife, Edith, died on the date of the accident.
The son of Marcus Rector Howard and Neat Gilbert Howard, he was born at McDonald, MO, on Dec 13, 1896. He was a World War I Marine veteran.
Survivors include a brother, Eugene Howard of Van Nuys, CA; a cousin, Dean Hurt of Festus, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev O.I. Ford, minister of the East Side Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Norfork Cemetery under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service.
Pallbearers were Virgil Killian, Sid Skidmore, William Rex Evans, Ed Simpson, Hubert Beard and Leo Rose.
