WIDEMAN - Kirby Lee Ward, 94, of Wideman, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in a Calico Rock hospital.
Born March 23, 1909, he was the son of Nathan Henry Ward and Arizona Lee Hinson Ward. He was a farmer and a member of the Wideman Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Clessie Yancey Ward; two sons, Obra Ward of Melbourne and J.H. Ward of Oxford; a daughter, Mavis Jones of Wideman; a brother, Boyce Ward of Anadarko, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Jerry Ward, Greg Ward, Kenny Ward, Beverly Ward, Rhonda Norvold, Regina Newton, Gary Jones and Linda Finley; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Velma Jones Ward; two brothers, Edgar Ward and Woodrow Ward; a grandson, Gary Lee Ward and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Norvell.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wideman Baptist Church with Charles McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Wideman Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ward, Greg Ward, Kenny Ward, Clayton Ward, Gary Jones and Steve Finley.
Honorary pallbearers are Gorden Owens, Darrell Ball, Gamaliel Jones, Jim Gilroy, Bob Shaver, John Shaver and Herbert Moss.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
