Collin "Cal" McKinney, born 10 Apr 1883 in Montgomery Co. AR; died 04 Jan 1962 in Hot Springs, Garland Co., AR. He was the son of Collin McKinney and Mattie Moody. He married Vinnie A. Tackett Diggs 27 Nov 1904 in Garland Co., AR. She was born Feb 1880 in AR, and died 16 Mar 1951. She was the daughter of Dudley Sneed Diggs and Jane Elizabeth Tackett.

The Jan. 4, 1961 death date on this headstone photo is not correct. Collin McKinney's death certificate shows that he died Jan. 4, 1962. The informant on the death certificate in 1962 was Collin McKinney's son, John Collin McKinney. John Collin McKinney also had the headstone made, but it some years later after Collin McKinney's death.

There is a discrepancy with Collin McKinney’s birth date as well. Again, John Collin McKinney was the informant in 1962 when he stated that his father was born April 10, 1885, and yet he gave the date of April 10, 1883 as date of birth on his headstone. The 1900 Garland Co. AR Census which was taken when Collin McKinney was 17 years old also gives the date of birth as April 1883. My Mother-in-law has Collin and Vinnie (Diggs) McKinney Family Bible. The Family Bible gives the date of birth for Collin as April 10, 1884.
