MILLIGAN, Isaiah - Isaiah Milligan was born in Perry county, Ohio July fifth, 1838 and died five miles east of Rogers in Benton county, Ark. Sept. 10th, 1898, aged sixty years, two months and five days old. He was converted while young and joined the United Brethren church. He remained a consistent Christian to the end and was a member of the church of his choice at Parsons, Kansas. He served his country three years in the Civil War and was pensioner and a member of the G.A.R. On Jan. 16th, 1872 he married Mary E. Struble. Of this marriage five sons and two daughters were born. Two of the sons preceded him to heavenly rest. Of the five remaining children, four were present with him during his last sickness, Louis only being absent. He is now in the U.S. Army. Bro. Milligan had been confined to the house and his bed for several weeks. He suffered from heart disease and dropsy. His end was peaceful and to the bereaved he left a bright testimony and a sweet assurance that now he reigns with the Savior above. The funeral was held at the house on Sunday, Sept. 11th, 1898 at 11 a.m. and the body was laid to rest in the Old Soldiers lot at Rogers Cemetery. The writer conducted the services. D.P. Abbey.
