Services for F.L. 'Lefty' Harvey, of Salesville will be at 10AM Tuesday at Norfork Church of Christ with Bros. Doyle and Ron Davenport officiating. Mr. Harvey died Saturday (Aug 23) at his home. He was 70.
Visitation will be from noon-9PM today at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends form 6-8PM. Burial will be at Norfork Cemetery with E.J. Weatherford, Gary Porter, Chirs Rouse, Derrick Weatherford, Michael Weatherford and Jimmy Mincey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave 'Buck' Buckner, Gregg Fusman, Landin Fusman, Devon Blanchard, Dick Doolin, Pat 'Pasco' Lewis, Armel 'Speedy' Hughes, Vernon Cox, Jack Hughes, Gene Porter, John Ed Isbell, Bill Hines, O.C. Simpson, Steve Chapman and members of Norfork Church of Christ.
An area native, Mr. Harvey was born Feb 2, 1927, at Norfork, a son of the late Augusta and Avania Hager Harvey. He and the former Marie Smith were married Oct 3, 1947, at Mt. Home. Mr. Harvey worked as a power plant operator for the US Army Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1984. He was a member of Norfork Church of Christ for 50 years.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Harvey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and neighbors, specially his grandchildren, and enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors. He was known in the community for his garden, which he shared generously.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Harvey of the home; a son,, Donald Harvey of Lakeview; three daughters, Jeanne Weatherford and husband E.J., of Saleville, Cynthia Porter and husband Gary, of Norfork and Sandra Fusman and husband, Gregg of Ferndale WA; a brother, Glenn Harvey of Tustin CA; two sisters, Virginia Masters of North Little Rock and Nina Johnston of Stella, MO; 10 grandchildren, Derrick Weatherford and wife, May, of Salesville, Sheila Howell and husband Porter of Viola, Michael Weatherford and wife Evelyne, of Jonesboro, Lori Mincey and husband Jimmy of Gassville, Alish Rouse and husband, Chris of Mt. Home, David Porter of Norfork, Cristy McKee and husband, Jim of Pottersville, MO, Aneas Fusman of Sedro Woolley, WA, and Dustin Weatherford and wife, Emma of Jacksonville, FL; two great grandchildren, Dillon and Emily Jean Mincey of Gassville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Norris 'Dobby' and Harold Harvey.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or Southern Christian Children's Home in Morrilton.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
