Robertson Talley (misspelled on gravestone as Tally) was born in 1813 in Montgomery County North Carolina and died of smallpox, 13 June 1864,in Little Rock while serving in the Civil War: Pvt Co E, 45 Arkansas Militia, Confederate - Co M, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, Union (inscribed on tombstone). He married Lucinda Stanfield in Wayne County, Tennessee, 10 March 1831, by her father, Rev. Billy Stanfield, Baptist minister; Providence Church, "Mother Church" of the Indian Creek Baptist Association, founded in 1830's.
