December 2, 1947 - May 6, 1968
Mrs. Edna Black McGough, 80, of Rt. 3, El Dorado, died Monday afternoon in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was the widow of Edmond W. McGough. Born August 29, 1887 in Washington, Ark., she was the daughter of Edgar and Maude Pearce Black. Mrs. McGough was a deputy in the Clerk's office for 18 years, and was assistant clerk in the local draft board office for 15 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren, and of the local Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a graduate of the Washington High School in Washington, Ark., and of Galloway College in Searcy. She was a former school teacher having taught in the schools of Washington, Hope and Warren. Surviving her is her sister, Miss Margaret Black of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Sam Shepperson officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Emmett Coley, Jabe Hoggard, John Trimble, Pierce McGough, Herman Chandler and Ray Therrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Claude Love, Judge J. G. Ragsdale, E. V. Hines, W. H. Jameson, Ferrell Gresham, Preston Hines, Dr. J. C. Calaway, Dr. C. E. Tommey and Dr. H. J. Mayfield.
