*LaRhonda's note: Evander Smith applied for residence in the Arkansas Confederate Home (located in Little Rock, AR) on November 24, 1925. He was residing in Ashley County and on his application, he states he was never married. He was shot in the face and hospitalized at Port Gibson, Mississippi in May of 1863.
